Description

Uploading to my 2820H fails. The Clone In progress bar on both CHIRP and the radio completes but after I cycle power on the radio it displays the message ALL CLEAR and all my earlier programming is wiped and no new programming exists. FYI, when I clone through the CS-2820 software, it works fine and the radio displays the message Clone End.

Which cable are you using? Are you using CS-2820 in high-speed mode? What sort of USB adapter?

Have you tried the windows version of chirp in whatever windows environment you're using CS-2820?

I have two actually. One is a DB-9 to mini-phono connector. The other is a USB to regular 1/8' phono connector. Turns out that both my 2820H and my 91A use the mini so I'm stuck with using a non-Icom USB-to-serial adapter. Of those, I have two. One is an older Keyspan with a gasp mini-DIN connector. That worked fine for my 91A but gave me the clone-in hang on the 2820H. So I tried my other connector which didn't work at first but after rebooting everything it worked fine. I'm good to go but it had me worried.

Glad to hear it. USB devices can be real problematic at times.

Thanks!
